Dove Christian Preschool, founded in 1980, offers a cheerful, well-rounded Christian environment with an atmosphere of love and acceptance for students to develop self-esteem and confidence. Our school offers a complete academic program for social and cognitive development, supporting your child's play and work with patience and love to help nurture and build a foundation for successful life-long learning.
We believe in a balanced environment that offers children the ability to achieve in the following areas: Intellectual: we provide a stress-free environment for learning, and lovingly support and encourage learning the skills necessary to prepare for a successful and lasting school career Social: we provide opportunities for growth in all social skills necessary to build confidence, value our differences and learn how to support each other in today's society Cultural: we promote creativity in arts, and encourage children to appreciate cultural patterns different from their own Physical: we provide opportunities for children to use and develop large and fine motor skills through every day activities Spiritual: we model and teach Christian faith principles of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self control (the fruit of the spirit, Galatians 5:21), demonstrating God's love in a way that helps each child know he/she is unconditionally loved and valued |

Teacher Barb:
Barb has been teaching at Dove Christian Preschool since 2001. Barb grew up in Illinois and spent her high school years in Wisconsin. She has a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montana. She moved to Portland with her husband after college graduation. Prior to her work at Dove, Barb was a recruiter for NIKE, as well as a stay-at-home mom. Outside of teaching preschool, Barb volunteers at a homework club at Stephens Creek, and is a member of PEO. Her hobbies include photography, scrapbooking, and puzzles. She enjoys walking, riding her scooter and taking road trips. Barb is also an active member of Multnomah Presbyterian Church. Barb lives in the Vermont Hills area with her husband, Tom. Their two children, Mariah and Sam, graduated from Dove. |

Teacher Katrina:
Katrina joined Dove in 2020. Katrina is a born and raised Oregonian who grew up in Garden Home. She attended Jesuit High School and has a degree in biology/marine biology from Oregon State University. Following college, Katrina spent two years in Florence, Italy doing campus ministry with a missions organization. Most recently she worked for Portland Public Schools as a paraeducator in a middle school Special Ed classroom. When she had her fourth child, she decided to stay at home and focus on being a mom. Katrina decided she didn’t want to say goodbye to the Dove community and is excited to now be the assistant teacher! Besides hanging out with her family, chickens and puppy in the backyard, you may find Katrina enjoying the beautiful Oregon Coast - her favorite place to be! Katrina lives in Milwaukie with her husband, three daughters and son. All four children graduated from Dove. |
